Locus
An app switcher scoped to your active display.
Free · Open source · macOS Ventura 13+
What it does
Locus is an experimental menu bar app that replaces Cmd+Tab while it runs. Instead of every app on every display, it lists only the visible app windows on the display you are actually looking at — and activates your pick the moment you release Command.
- Replaces Cmd+Tab with a switcher scoped to the active display.
- Small overlay that stays out of the way until you call it.
- Pause or resume the shortcut from the menu bar without quitting.
- No analytics, no network access.
Shortcuts
- Cmd+Tab — open the switcher or move forward.
- Cmd+Shift+Tab — move backward.
- Arrow keys — move while the switcher is open.
- H — hide the selected app. Q — quit it.
- Release Cmd — switch. Esc — cancel.
